Dancing Like The Stars - First Dance Ideas

For some of you the first dance is more nerve wrecking than the ceremony itself. I can’t begin to imagine how hard it could be to decide on your wedding song. He wants "Stand by Me" by Ben E. King and you want "Your Song" by Elton John. You would think it’s simple but it could have ended up being one of the toughest decisions you’ve made to do with the wedding. After all, it has to be perfect. The best thing about the wedding song you choose is, it will be personal to you and your future husband and be a moment you will both remember forever. I mean, it’s not quite as easy as organising a hen party, we’ve got loads of hen party ideas for you to choose from and do all of the organising for, that’s one thing ticked off your list.

Here are some of my favourite celebrities and the songs they chose for their first dance at their weddings.

Billy Joel and Katie Lee "Moon River" by Audrey Hepburn
Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes "Songbird" by Fleetwood Mac
David Beckham and Victoria Adams "It Had To Be You" by The Starlight Orchestra
Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" by Israel Kamakawiwo'ole
Joel Madden and Nicole Richie "What a Wonderful World" by Louis Armstrong
Kate Moss and Jamie Hince "If There Is Something" by Roxy Music
Hilary Duff and Michael Comrie "Stand by Me" by Ben E. King
President Barack Obama and Michelle Robinson "You and I" by Stevie Wonder
Beyoncé and Jay-Z “Crazy in Love" by Beyoncé featuring Jay-Z
Kate Middleton and Prince William "Your Song" by Elton John (performed by Ellie Goulding)
Michael Buble and Luisana Lopilato "Everybody Loves Somebody" by Dean Martin
Reese Witherspoon and Jim Toth "Make You Feel My Love" by Bob Dylan
Gene Simmons and Shannon Tweed "At Last" by Etta James
Mark Zuckerberg and Priscilla Chan "Last Night on Earth" by Green Day
Paul McCartney and Nancy Shevell "My Valentine" by Paul McCartney
Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries “Let’s Stay Together” by Al Green
Khloe Kardashian & Lamar Odom “Angel” by Anita Baker

The first dance is not the only dance performed at some weddings. A lot of groups now take the opportunity to use their hen party and stag do as a time to arrange a hen party dance class which is a great hen party idea if you want to perform with family and friend at the wedding. There are so many different themed dance classes such as Grease and Thriller and this is a great way to entertain your guests on the wedding day.

We’d love for you to comment on our Facebook letting us know which song you have chosen for your first dance and how you made the decision. Don’t forget, if you want one less wedding duty to worry about, we’ve got loads of hen party ideas, just call us on 0115 9415 282 for help.
