Why have your Hen Party in Sheffield?

So it’s finally arrived, the newest member of the hen party city family – Sheffield! It was no question for us, Sheffield was a solid choice. A request from many of you hens recently, you can now have your hen party in Sheffield with us! This metropolitan city gave us The Arctic Monkeys and for that we will be forever grateful, but we know it can offer so much more in the way of memories and good times, so it’s worth thinking about as a serious contender to host your hen party weekend.

"Sheffield, I suppose, could justly claim to be called the ugliest town in the Old World." – Sorry George Orwell times have changed! The city said goodbye to the majority of its industrial looks some years ago, making way for new building usages such as hipster food joints and creative spaces.

Cultural seekers, city moochers, fashionistas, music junkies and full on foodies – Sheffield has something for everyone and every hen. We promise there will no sign of a mardy bum on a hen weekend in Sheffield!

Wander the city and you’ll come across many-a gallery, theatre and museum. The Millennium Gallery is home to Ruskin’s collection – a selection of pieces collated to inspire and act as a ‘getaway’ for the hardworking people of Sheffield. Learn about Sheffield heritage in relation to the massive metal industry, as well as being able to see more contemporary pieces and resident exhibitions. Graves Gallery is also worth a visit if you’re an artistic sister – ‘home of Sheffield’s visual art collection since 1934’.

Sheffield’s Tudor Square is ‘the most concentrated cluster of theatres outside of London’. A much loved icon is the city’s Crucible Theatre. The seventies building underwent a full refurbishment in 2010 where a thrust stage was installed. This set up means the action can be viewed from three sides – with no-one being more than 22 metres from the stage. Sister theatre The Lyceum takes on a more traditional proscenium arch style, here you can catch stage favourites such as Priscilla Queen of the Dessert and The Full Monty (when in Sheffield eh?!)
