Things to do in Bristol

Clifton Suspension Bridge

As its own website claims - ‘one of the world’s great bridges’. And it doesn’t disappoint. Being the subject of many-a Bristol photograph turning the bridge and its surroundings into an icon of the city. In the flesh you can appreciate just why, even more so at dusk and dawn.

SS Great Britain

Former passenger steamship and now a floating museum! SS Great Britain was the world’s first ocean liner, a design bought to life by the famous Brunel. History aside, the ship is beautiful and well worth a visit for photo or two. Why not team up with some pirate fancy dress!

The Downs

Over 400 acres of public green space. Worth noting on your maps, especially in the summer if you’re looking for a place to soak up the sun, have a picnic or just a relaxing stroll with the girls in the park

Top Attractions

Bristol’s hands on science centre. You may be thinking ‘fun family day out’ but it can definitely be worth a trip with your fellow hens - the UK’s first 3D planetarium and 300 hands on exhibits. Who said education and a weekend away can’t go hand in hand?

Bristol Zoo

We all love a day out at the zoo and Bristol zoo is no exception. From the big beasts of gorillas and lions to the cutest animals in all the land - red pandas and of course meerkats! You’ll be ‘ooing’ and ‘awing’ for the whole afternoon!

Bristol Balloon

Bristol is linked strongly with hot air balloons and even hosts the International Balloon Fiesta every year. So why not get really involved in this tradition with an amazing hot air balloon ride over the city? Flying season is throughout the summer and deliver the most stunning views and would make your hen party weekend pretty unique!

Clifton Village

Clifton village, home to the famous suspension bridge also houses several shopping opportunities. Cute boutiques and classy arcades line the traditional streets. You’ll be surrounded by gorgeous Georgian and Regency architecture. You’ll find numerous independent retailers of jewellery and home-ware for that important souvenir!

Shopping Quarter

Bristol’s buzzing city centre is honest and reliable - with all the high street favourites and familiar names. Covered shopping areas include The Galleries and Cabot Circus interconnected by Broadmead. There’s even four floors of Primark heaven - as one of you is bound to forget something!

Park Street & The Triangle

If the usual and the ‘same old’ don’t rock your boat then head to Park Street where there are all the first class clothing and home shops you could ever need. Teamed up with the Triangle where you can find independents, cafes and eateries your shopping day trip will feel quite complete!

Leisure and entertainment hub, you’ll find cinemas and galleries alongside restaurants and bars. Social drinks, relaxing coffees or a full on night out - you can make your evening how you want it with everything Harbourside has to offer - we recommend this area in the summer especially!

Stokes Croft

Bristol’s cultural quarter is Stokes Croft. A mixture of funky bars, traditional pubs and delightful cafes and restaurants you don’t need to venture anywhere else on your party weekend! The area has its own cinema and two top clubs to choose from.

City Centre

Catering for all tastes on your party weekends - you’re as likely to find a chic cocktail bar as you are a down and dirty club! From comedy clubs to live music, the city centre has it covered. Clubbing in the city offers two main super clubs alongside smaller more specialised music venues.
