Hen Party in Edinburgh - UKGirlThing

Brilliant hotel, especially the breakfast and very good bar area. My hen weekend was out of this world, I cannot thank my party organiser and the girls who came with me on the weekend enough. Totally perfect in everywhere and I am truly overwhelmed with the whole weekend!

Things to do in Edinburgh

Sightseeing

Edinburgh Castle

Dating back to the 12th century, the castle of Edinburgh has dominated the skyline and looms over the city. Stunning both day and night, you won’t struggle to find the impressive structure sat high upon Castle Rock. Well worth a look at night too, with its impressive lighting set up.

Holyrood Castle

Holyrood palace is the official residence of the royals in Scotland. The Queen herself stays here for at least one week a year at the beginning of the summer, as well as other members of the royal family. Hang around outside - you might get a glimpse of William or Kate!

Old Town

Surrounding the castle is Edinburgh’s Old Town. Most being the original streets and architecture dating back to the reformation. Cobbled streets, quirky buildings and market squares make for a delightful wander around whatever time of year.

Top Attractions

Edinburgh Castle

You can also visit the castle buildings and its grounds, See first-hand different areas and eras of history, fascinating for enthusiasts and general visitors alike. Make sure you catch the cannon fire, and take a minute to enjoy the amazing view!

Scotch Experience

Learn all about the local tipple of Scotch whisky in this replica distillery. Find out about the crafts involved from expert tour guides, most importantly you get to taste their wares!

Edinburgh Dungeon

Special effects, actors, amazing sets and thrilling rides, the Edinburgh Dungeon captures all the spirits of Edinburgh’s past. Making learning about the city’s history, folklore and gruesome tales an exhilarating and rather scary experience!

Shopping

Princes Street

All the high street names you could ever want - Primark, Debenhams, Zara and M&S to name a few. It’s the most developed part of the city, with modern streets and contemporary shop fronts.

George Street

George Street is where you’ll find all your chic fashion and designer shops. Hollister, Jack Wills and Karen Millen sandwiched perfectly between trendy bars and cafes - what could be better?

Multrees Walk

And we thought it couldn’t get better than George Street. Multrees walk is not only beautiful but home to the best luxurious shops in Edinburgh. We’re talking Harvey Nichols, Louis Vuitton, Marc Jacobs and Gucci. Go on, treat yourself!

Nightlife

Old Town

Absolutely no shortage of traditional pubs and bars here - get a real taste of the Scottish drinking culture in its capital. Tending to be the cheaper area of town and where you’ll find live music, gigs and bands aplenty. The atmosphere is always friendly and never a disappointment.

George Street

Serving a slightly more affluent crowd, George Street hosts fashionable cocktail and wine bars nestled between the designer shops and cafes which dominate the street during daylight hours. You’ll find it the choice for young professionals, so quality and satisfaction is priority.

Docks at Leith

Newly regenerated to kiss goodbye to a once dodgy reputation, Leith is now one of the most up and coming areas of Edinburgh when it comes to nightlife.

How to get to Edinburgh

Being experts in all our cities we can provide you with some very useful information on how to get to Edinburgh. There are many options available to our hens as we explore here, to help you decide!

By Car

As capital of Scotland, Edinburgh is linked with the Scottish motorway network in several places. Making it easy to access from anywhere in the UK. Both on-street and covered car parks are available in Edinburgh.

By Train

Regular services operate to Edinburgh station, from all over the UK. CrossCountry being one of the quickest - so access from London only takes 5 hours.

By Coach

Buses and coaches are a great option for the budget conscious, often being the cheapest transport option. There are regular services from London and all major UK cities.

By Air

Obviously one of Scotland’s busiest airports - meaning its popularity demands a regular schedule of both international and domestic flights. The Scottish require travelling further for most, so this could be a great option to cut travel times.
